DESCRIPTION
PATTEX FT 101
All purpose elastic sealant / adhesive based on
Flextec which cures by reaction with moisture at
room temperature.

SCOPE OF USE
It is recommended for elastic bonding and sealing
applications in construction such as:
• fixing windowsills, skirting-boards, steps, tiles, etc.
• maintenance work: bonding of metals, ventilation,
air-conditioning, etc.
• connection joints in building construction, connection joints between window frames and brickwork,
ground joints
• joints in construction prefabricated units
• joints in external balconies and terraces
• joints in light constructions
• joints in metallic and wooden constructions
APPLICATION
FT101 is supplied ready to use and can be applied
from the cartridge using a standard air or hand
operated gun, with no special pre-treatment.
Sealing applications:
The joint width must be designed to suit the
movement capability of the sealant. In general the
joint width must be > 10 mm and < 35 mm. A width
to depth ratio of ~1 : 0.5 must be maintained.After
joint and substrate preparation, insert backing rod
(closed cell, PE-foam backing rods) to required
depth and apply primer if necessary. Insert
cartridge into sealant gun and firmly extrude FT101
into joint making sure that it is full contact with the
side of the joint. Fill the joint, avoiding air
entrapment. FT101 must be tooled firmly against
joint sides to ensure good adhesion. Masking tape
must be used where sharp exact joint lines or
exceptionally neat lines are required. Remove the
tape whilst the sealant has still not formed a skin.
After application, the product can be smoothed with
soapy water before skinning for a perfect sealant
